New beginnings for ex-Apollo Bramwell hospital

A new chapter has begun for the ex-Apollo Bramwell Hospital. On 20th January, 2017, CIEL Healthcare Limited (“CHL”), through its subsidiary, The Medical and Surgical Centre Limited (‘MSCL’), indeed concluded the purchase of the business operations of this iconic Hospital.

The state-of-the-art facility is now managed by Fortis Healthcare, CHL’s strategic partner. This transaction is a significant step for CHL which aims at raising the bar in terms of quality medical care in Mauritius. The new management and 680 plus staff are focused on delivering quality healthcare services to patients while conducting an in-depth review of the operations before implementing a new strategy to re-energize the facility and improve upon its services. This acquisition gives a new dimension altogether to CHL in Mauritius and the region. It provides economies of scale and opportunities to create synergies with Fortis Clinique Darné, develop centres of excellence and overall improve the level of healthcare in Mauritius. As stated by Alex Alexander, Managing Director of CIEL Healthcare Africa Ltd, “The priority remains the accessibility to quality healthcare services, while maintaining competitive rates for the benefit of patients and the public at large”.

Key facts : imminent rebranding of the hospital

The new name, visual identity and vision of the Hospital will soon be communicated to all stakeholders. This exercise which included several workshops and staff questionnaires will support the Hospital’s new chapter and propel its new dynamism.
